What to get right on a cleaning services quotation
- Visit before you quote. A deep-clean price given over the phone is the one most cleaners regret.
- Say who supplies chemicals, equipment and consumables such as toilet paper and refuse bags, and price them separately if you do.
- For a contract, state the visit days, the hours, and the notice either side must give to end it.
Questions people ask
Should I quote per visit or per month?
For a regular contract, a monthly figure with the number of visits stated is easiest for the client to budget. For a one-off job, quote per square metre or per room so the price follows the size of the job.
What if the site is dirtier than expected?
Add a note that heavy soiling, construction debris or pests found on the day are charged extra. Without it, the quoted price covers whatever you find.
Can I raise the price during a long contract?
Only if the quotation provides for a review, for example every six months. Put the review date in the terms you send with the quote.
