What to get right on a logistics and dispatch invoice
- Put the waybill or tracking number in the description. Clients match invoices to deliveries by that number.
- Bill fuel surcharges as a separate line rather than raising the trip rate silently.
- Corporate clients deduct 5% WHT on logistics services. Quote net-of-WHT expectations in advance.

Is VAT charged on transport?
Commercial road transport of passengers is VAT-exempt, but goods haulage and dispatch are standard-rated at 7.5% once you are above the small-company threshold.
How do I invoice for many trips?
One invoice a week or a month with one line per trip. Keep quantities as trip counts so the total is easy to check.
What if the client pays late?
State payment terms on the invoice. Net 7 is common for dispatch, net 30 for haulage.
