Accountant directory terms

What a listing includes, how we check and bill it, and when it comes down. You accept these by email before we invoice you.

Who you are dealing with

The directory is run by ereQa Technologies Ltd, which operates Owoode. A listing is an agreement between your practice and ereQa Technologies Ltd. Questions go to support@owoode.com.

Who can be listed

  • A practice whose credential we can check with the professional body for the country it practises in, by the method shown on the join page.
  • Where the law protects a title (such as chartered accountant or expert-comptable), only a holder of that title is shown with it. A practice without one is listed for bookkeeping and tax support.
  • We may decline any application without giving a reason, and we never list a practice without its agreement.

How we check

Before invoicing, we check your membership or practising certificate against the body’s public register where one exists, against its published list where that is all there is, or against a copy of your current certificate and photo ID, which we may confirm with the body directly. Your card shows the date of that check. We repeat it every 12 months, and a listing whose check is more than a year old comes down until it is renewed.

What a listing includes

  • A card on your country’s directory page: practice name, city, credential, services, languages and the contact details you give us. Clients contact you directly; we never take a fee per enquiry and never sell your details.
  • Listed cards appear in a daily rotating order.
  • Featured cards appear above Listed ones, also rotating, and carry the label “Ad”. There are at most 3 per country, offered in the order applications are accepted.
  • A country page is published once it has enough checked listings. Until then your listing is held and your paid year starts on the day the page goes live.

We do not promise any number of visitors, enquiries or clients, or a position in search engines.

Your responsibilities

  • Everything you give us is accurate and yours to publish.
  • You tell us within 14 days if your registration lapses, is suspended or changes, or if any listed detail changes.
  • Your listing and the way you deal with clients follow your professional body’s code of ethics, including its rules on advertising.
  • The work you do for clients is between you and them. Owoode is not a party to it and is not responsible for it.

Billing

  • Listings are billed yearly. Once your credential is checked and you have accepted these terms by email, we send an invoice with a payment link: in naira for Nigeria, in US dollars elsewhere, at the price shown on the join page on the date of the invoice.
  • Your listing goes live, or is held for its country page, once the invoice is paid.
  • About a month before your year ends we send a renewal invoice. If it is unpaid, the listing comes down 7 days after the end date.
  • A year you have paid for keeps its price. We tell you of any change before we send the renewal invoice.
  • Taxes and transfer charges on your side are yours to pay.

Refunds

  • Within 14 days of paying, if your listing has not gone live, you can ask for a full refund.
  • If we remove a listing for our own reasons, not because of anything in the next section, we refund the unused months.
  • There is no refund when a listing is removed under the next section.

When we remove a listing

We may remove a listing at once, and tell you why, if:

  • your registration lapses, is suspended or cannot be confirmed;
  • a detail on your card turns out to be false or misleading;
  • we receive a complaint that, after asking for your side, we consider well founded; or
  • a professional body or authority asks us to.

You can ask us to take your listing down at any time.

Your data

We publish only what you agree to show on your card. Your application, the checks we made and your invoices are kept for as long as the law requires for business records, and are handled as described in our privacy notice. You can ask for a copy or for deletion of anything not required by law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we email listed practices before the change applies. A change does not alter a year already paid for unless the law requires it.
