Zimbabwe's own currency is the Zimbabwe Gold, written ZiG in everyday use. The Reserve Bank notes and the regulations that created them use the form "one ZiG, two ZiG, five ZiG, ten ZiG", with ZiG unchanged in the plural (S.I. 60 of 2024, section 3(2)). In words, write "Five hundred ZiG" rather than "five hundred ZiGs". The international code is ZWG, with numeric code 924, effective 25 June 2024.

The Reserve Bank has set the minor unit at two decimal places and calls it "cents" (Reserve Bank press statement of 1 July 2024). An amount of 1,250.75 ZiG therefore reads "One thousand two hundred and fifty ZiG and seventy-five cents".

ZiG is legal tender in all transactions alongside the other currencies prescribed under section 44A of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Act (new section 44D(6), inserted by S.I. 60 of 2024). Because the US dollar is also in use, name the currency in words every time: "United States dollars" with "cents", or "ZiG" with "cents", and repeat the figure with its symbol or code so that no reader has to guess.
