Filing your income tax return in Qatar on Dhareeba: who must file, the tax year and deadline, what documents you need, and what happens if you are late.
Every entity within the Income Tax Law, including those that owe nothing: exempt companies, companies owned by Qatari or GCC nationals, and private associations and foundations. Article 11 requires a return even from a taxpayer benefiting from an exemption. A Qatari or GCC-owned entity with paid-up capital under 1 million QAR and revenue under 5 million QAR may file a simplified return without audited accounts.
Tax year and deadline
Within four months of the end of the accounting period, so 30 April for a calendar year end, though the authority has granted general extensions in practice. Withholding tax statements are due by the 16th of the following month and excise returns quarterly.
Filing step by step
Everything goes through Dhareeba; electronic filing has been compulsory since November 2020 and there is no paper channel.
Log in with the National Authentication System credentials of the authorised signatory or agent and pick the return type.
Attach audited accounts unless you qualify for the simplified return.
Pay by the deadline through Dhareeba, and use its extension service before the due date rather than after.
