Who can list in Jamaica, and how we check

Jamaica has two layers: the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica for membership, and the Public Accountancy Board, which keeps the statutory register of public accountants under the Public Accountancy Act. We could not open either body's list, so we ask for your ICAJ membership certificate and, if you practise publicly, your current practising certificate, which we confirm with the Board.

Questions accountants ask

How do you check ICAJ or PAB membership?
We could not open the ICAJ's member list, so we ask for your ICAJ membership certificate and photo ID. Public accountants must be on the Board's register, so we ask for your current practising certificate and confirm it with the Board. We repeat the check every 12 months.
