Issuing a valid invoice here

In practice a Bangladeshi business issues its own Mushak-6.3 and keeps a copy; section 51 of the VAT and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 leaves the method to the VAT Rules. Rule 40(1)(ga) of the VAT and Supplementary Duty Rules, 2016 adds mechanics the form itself does not show: the invoice number runs in a serial for each fiscal year, and a business supplying from more than one place can run a separate serial for each place, with the place name and address printed on it. At least two copies are produced. The original goes to the buyer and the copy stays with you.

Where goods are sold under an instalment contract, section 41(2) requires a separate tax invoice against each instalment payment, not one invoice for the whole price.

The buyer has its own reason to check what you issue. Under section 46(1) a buyer cannot claim input tax credit if the invoice does not show the name, address and registration number of both buyer and seller, or if a supply above Tk 1 lakh was not paid for through a bank or mobile-banking channel. A plain PDF is therefore only as good as the fields on it and the payment trail behind it.

Keeping the invoice electronically is lawful. Section 107(2A) lets a registered person keep tax documents and accounts on a secured server through ERP software or Board-prescribed VAT software, treats them as legally admissible evidence, and allows them to be shown to the VAT authority electronically. The records must still be kept for five years.
