What the labour law requires on a payslip
Labour Law 4857 article 37 obliges the employer to give each worker a signed wage account slip (ücret hesap pusulası), or one bearing the workplace's special mark, whenever pay is made at the workplace or into a bank. The slip must state the day of payment and the period it covers.
It must show separately every addition to base pay, such as overtime, weekly rest-day pay and public-holiday pay, and every deduction, such as tax, insurance premium, advance repayment, maintenance and enforcement deductions. The slip is exempt from stamp duty and all fees.
Article 32 sets the rhythm: wages are paid in Turkish lira, at the workplace or into a bank account where the authorities have made bank payment compulsory, and at least once a month, though an employment contract may shorten the period to a week. Wage claims expire after five years.
An employer who fails to issue the slip is liable to an administrative fine under article 102 paragraph (b).
Social contributions on each payslip
Contributions are set by Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law 5510 article 81. Disability, old-age and death insurance is 21% of earnings, of which 9% is the employee's share and 12% the employer's, following Law 7566 of 4 December 2025. General health insurance is 12.5%, split 5% employee and 7.5% employer. Short-term insurance (work accidents and occupational disease) is 2.25% of earnings, paid wholly by the employer; the President may move it between 1.5% and 2.5%.
Unemployment insurance under Law 4447 article 49 is 1% from the employee, 2% from the employer and 1% from the State. Private-sector employers that file and pay on time may have two points of the employer's pension share met by the Treasury under article 81(ı).
Premiums are calculated on gross earnings between a floor and a ceiling (article 82). For 1 January to 31 December 2026 SGK publishes a monthly floor of 33.030 TL and ceiling of 297.270 TL for private-sector employees. The employer deducts the employee's shares from pay and pays everything to the Social Security Institution (SGK) by the date the Institution sets (article 88).
