The rules in Oman
- Overtime starts after 40 hours a week.
- Overtime starts after 8 hours a day.
- Limit: 12 hours a day.
- The rate applies to basic wage only, not to allowances.
- Set by Royal Decree 53/2023 arts. 70–73.
Worth knowing
The 2023 decree cut the week to 40 hours, not 45. Overtime needs the worker's consent and may be answered with time off instead.
