Who can list in Ireland, and how we check

Chartered Accountants Ireland runs directories of firms, of members and of those in practice, although they were down for technical problems when we checked. Members who joined from CPA Ireland on 1 September 2024 are in a separate CPA Ireland directory, so tell us which route you came by. Statutory auditors are registered with the Companies Registration Office rather than the institute, and we ask them for their Auditor Registration Number.

How do you check CAI or CRO membership?
We check your name or firm in Chartered Accountants Ireland's directories, and ask for your membership number if you joined through CPA Ireland, which has its own directory. If you sign audits, we ask for your Auditor Registration Number, which we match against the CRO's register of approved auditors. We repeat the check every 12 months.
