Issuing a valid invoice here
In Ireland there is no state platform or fiscal device that an invoice must pass through today. A VAT invoice issued as a PDF from any software is valid, provided it carries the contents Revenue lists: a unique sequential number, the supplier's name, address and VAT number, the customer's name and address, the VAT-exclusive price, the VAT at each rate and the date of supply.
Revenue has fixed dates for structured e-invoicing. In November 2028 VAT-registered large corporates must send e-invoices and report them in real time for domestic B2B sales. In November 2029 the duty reaches VAT-registered businesses trading cross-border within the EU under the zero rate. From July 2030 EU-wide rules apply to all cross-border B2B transactions.
Once a business falls in scope, a PDF will not meet the obligation. Every other business should still be able to receive and process e-invoices from any supplier that is mandated to issue them.
