The rules in Uganda
- Overtime starts after 48 hours a week.
- Overtime starts after 8 hours a day.
- Limit: 10 hours a day or 56 a week.
- The rate applies to your normal gross hourly pay.
- Set by Employment Act 2006 s. 53.
Worth knowing
This rate is a default that a written agreement may lawfully displace. The section was renumbered in the 2023 revised edition, so check the current citation before quoting it.
