Issuing a valid invoice here

No electronic invoicing platform or fiscal device is yet required of Gambian businesses. In a public notice dated 22 June 2026, the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) announced that the Government has approved an Electronic Invoicing (E-Invoicing) System for VAT and other applicable taxes, and that Cabinet has approved an Electronic Invoicing System Regulation to govern it. The project was launched by the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs in July 2025.

Rollout starts with a pilot. GRA will contact a selected number of taxpayers from different economic sectors directly and guide them through the trial, after which the system is to be extended nationwide. A business that has not been contacted has no pilot step to take. The notice is also addressed to providers of invoicing and payment systems, so accounting software vendors can expect technical requirements from GRA.

The notice does not give a nationwide start date, an invoice format or a platform name, and it does not say whether a plain PDF or paper invoice stays valid once the system goes live. Until GRA publishes those rules, check the News page on www.gra.gm, and keep a copy of every invoice you issue so that it can be entered into the system when the time comes.
