Price rules that affect your markup
No general maximum-price or regulated-margin regime is published in Zambia's official sources. The rule that applies to every seller is section 51 of the Competition and Consumer Protection Act, 2010: a person or enterprise may not charge a consumer more than the price indicated or displayed on a product or service. The penalty is a fine of up to ten percent of annual turnover, payable to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
Section 51 matters when you mark up goods: the price on the shelf, tag or quotation is the most you may charge. The same Act also treats charging an excessive price to the detriment of consumers as an abuse of a dominant position.
