Price rules that affect your markup
Prices in Ghana must be set and advertised in cedis. The Foreign Exchange Act, 2006 (Act 723) prohibits pricing, advertising, receiving or paying for goods and services in foreign currency inside Ghana, and the Bank of Ghana restated this in a public notice (BG/GOV/SEC/2019/07). A breach can lead, on summary conviction, to a fine of up to 700 penalty units (GH₵8,400 at GH₵12 a unit), up to 18 months in prison, or both. A landlord, car dealer or supplier who prices in dollars should state and charge the cedi amount.
